The Hereford Police Department employs five full time dispatchers, and are under the direction of the Communication Supervisor. Our dispatchers undertake numerous responsibilities, as they are charged with answering all calls coming into the Police Department, as well as all emergency calls coming in from 911 for all of Deaf Smith County. Our dispatchers not only dispatch officers to calls for service within the city, but also dispatch Emergency Medical Services (EMS), and the Hereford Fire Department for all of Deaf Smith County. Dispatch serves as a central hub of information and for communication between all agencies during critical incidents, and provide crucial information to officers when they are taking calls for service. The Hereford Police Department has at least one dispatcher on duty 24-hours a day, 7 days a week.
