Administration

The Hereford Police Department is led by Chief Landon Swan.  Chief Swan has served more than 21 years spending the entirety of his career serving the citizens of Hereford.  

Chief Swan is a lifelong resident of Texas.  He graduated from Spearman High School and later went on to obtain an Associates Degree from Amarillo College.  He began his career with the Hereford Police Department after attending the Panhandle Regional Law Enforcement Academy.  Chief Swan has worked in both the patrol division and criminal investigative division of the department. He has his Master Peace Officer Certificate and is a certified trainer in areas including Taser, Firearms, and ALERRT among many others.  

 Captain Williams serves as second in command of the Hereford Police Department.  He has served the community of Hereford for more than 22 years.  
Captain Williams has a Masters Peace Officer Certificate and earned his Bachelors Degree from Oklahoma Panhandle State University.  Captain Williams began his career by attending the Panhandle Regional Law Enforcement Academy (PRLEA) before working for Amarillo Police Department.  Captain Williams continued his career as a patrol officer with the Hereford Police Department and advanced through the ranks.  He made the rank of Captain in 2012 where he continues to serve the department and community.  Captain Williams holds an advanced instructor certification through TCOLE and utilizes those skills both within the department and by instructing officer recruits at PRLEA.
